K(no|w)Body

K(no|w)Body is a student-led colloquium providing a forum to allow students and other researchers and practitioners to present emerging research, inspire conversations, and conduct theoretical and practical experiments in a collaborative intellectual environment. Two days of practical and theoretical presentations, workshops, lecture performances and other experimental formats addressing the themes and interests connected to movement practice.

K(no|w)Body is a game of words unfolding a constellation of meaning; it can be read as nobody, know/body, now body or no body. The Greek word praxis suggests the integration of theory and practice.

K(no|w)Body offers opportunities for young scholars to present their work in a constructive and engaged setting. In consideration of time, presentations will be limited to 20-30 minutes, depending on the number of submissions received.

Proposals should be submitted by May 18th, 2015 on our registration page. A brief bio and project proposal of 150-250 words should be included, along with media if relevant. All proposals will be responded to by June 1st. There is a sliding scale donation of 1-5 pounds to attend.

We also welcome attendees who want to attend and participate without presenting. Please bring your ideas, questions, movements, memories, dances, thoughts, and bodies! It is helpful to us if non-presenting participants register beforehand at K(no|w)Body Participant Registration
